actually it’s not a classical piece. It’s written by the French guitarist Pierre Bensusan. But you’re right, it’s a great piece of music, and very well played.

I’m just starting to check out some classical guitar videos and this is a very beautiful piece. There some nice harmonies going on. How long would it usually take a guitarist to learn a complex song like this by heart?

Of course, you and your teacher are right in principle. I was just being an ass. 🙂 The technique to avoid left hand noises demands enormous dedication to master but it is also an artistic choice to go that route as opposed to other approaches. P.B. is a fingerstyle acoustic player whose pieces are very free and loose in interpretation. Ana probably plays other pieces that demand controled «noiseless»articulation to sound right. And no doubt she can pull it off. Here she didn’t need to.

Yeah, i would do that if there where another teacher as good as him. He told me that most guitarists think that it’s ok to make string noise, that it’s normal. He says that it is a technique that has to be developed to play without noise. It’s not easy, but I have listened to a few that play that way, without the noise, and it sounds beautifull.
    I’m not disrespectfull of Ana.

You should hit your teacher back on the head with the stick and make him learn a thing or two from Mrs. Vidovic.

there´s absolutely no way to hold a guitar in other way than that if you want to play with speed, strength, precision and passion… theres no other way to hold a guitar if you want to play flamenco… (classical guitar player here)

I love how she plays, only detail is she makes noise with her left hand on the strings. My teacher has a stick and if we make noise when we play, pow! we get it! His rule is «No noise» It’s hard but possible.
