I finally got around to pitting the Roku 2 vs the Logitech Revue with Google TV. Which device is better? Watch and find out. Music courtesy of incompetech.com.

25 noviembre, 2012a couple tech notes… the roku 2 (3000 series) does not have enough power to transmit two video signals. If you want to send Hd to your flat panel and video to the bedroom, you cant do it unless you use a channel 3 modulator and a 2-way coax cable splitter. At this point, you just eliminated your Hd signal.
The earlier generation Roku XD 2050x will output two video sigs and does1080p, wired/wireless for problem homes. About $35 used.
The logitech revue only connects to an Hdmi Tv input.

25 noviembre, 2012This is the most long-winded review I have ever heard. Lasted up to the remote part. Jesus man!

25 noviembre, 2012The atv2000 has android market support so they have access to things like anti virus software, etc, so if this is a concern that option is available, its a good cheap way to get the full android experience on your tv, im not a real fan of custom manufactured gui’s simply because i dabble in development side of things, and i can develop my own apps for this model, which is one of the main reasons i went for this box. 🙂

25 noviembre, 2012I’ve seen those streamers on eBay. I personally have stayed away from them because of malware concerns. I’m not saying they all have malware on them. I’m just saying that I don’t trust using those devices personally.

25 noviembre, 2012All Cable and Satellite providers claim to be giving you the best price until you start doing some simple math. Monthly bill x 12mos x years you keep the service, I`ll just keep watching more channels in HD for less, without the HD boxes and the DVR`s and best of all that high monthly bill. I also get to see all the PPV and Sports packages that those companies offer you without the hefty price. watchtvmyway@gmail.com

25 noviembre, 2012I was gonna get the logitech but ended up getting a geniatech atv2000 which can run android ice cream sandwich, it plays quite alot of touch based games such a angry birds and fruit ninja even world of goo… It has pretty much a vanilla android experience but on the tv which i thought was pretty decent considering its more than half the cost of both th roku and logitech. Its also dlna compatible so network streaming is easy.

26 noviembre, 2012The content that Roku offers isn’t blocked by content providers on the Google TV’s browser. Traditional media outlets block Google TV. The same companies that don’t offer Roku apps. The benefit of the browser is that you can actually use the internet on Google TV, provided you don’t want to watch CBS, NBC, ABC, etc…

26 noviembre, 2012So, according to this review, Roku offers way more content options, but that is outweighed by the inclusion of a browser on Google TV, which is (as explained) blocked by all major content providers. Got it. No, waitaminute…
