Nice video. Error in the description, her blog is called «Manger» (Francais for «eat»), NOT «Manager». :)

«This is not a diet-and-calories club.» I have never even once added up or counted calories. You are not dieting. You are learning to live free of your addiction. This food plan works for me; it might not work for anyone else at all. I suggest you meet with a nutritionist familiar with OA, get a sponsor, and work the steps. The food plan is only one tool. It may get you started, but I feel strongly it won’t last without a strong program. Recovery is in the steps! Best wishes.

Hey if I’m correct you are only consuming about 1,200 calories a day? Is that correct? I am 32 years old 6ft 3inches tall broad shoulders and I weigh 263lbs. After you get to your ideal weight how many calories will you eat a day? What will you add?

Thanx I realized now the the food plan got me abstinent, but the program–the 12 steps–kept me abstinent. I found that that 3-0-1 plan, from the Dignity of Choice Pamphlet, works best for me. For me, only 3 meals and weighing and measuring means less decisions I have to make and less chances for me to screw up. Remember this is just an example of one food plan and OA does not endorse any particular food plan. Please work with a sponsor! Best wishes to you. OA saved my life.

Wow that was great! I have been in OA 3 different times in the past and have never been able to achieve any kind of abstinence because I have a hard time finding a food plan. I am once again contemplating rejoining OA and videos like this really help.

I wanted to mention that I often will substitute ground beef or shrimp for the chicken. I have found that 7-3/8oz of the raw shrimp I buy equals 5oz after removing the shell and tail. I just throw them in there, but you can steam them separately. They curl up and turn pink when they’re done.
Also, I will substitute a little rice for some black beans. When I measure my starch, I weigh 2 or 3 spoonfuls of black beans in the bowl, and then add just enough rice to make up my 4oz.. Best wishes.

Best wishes. If you find it is difficult because you just can’t stop eating or thinking about food, please consider attending an OA meeting. You can find one at oa.org.
