I have the Big dot sights on my Glock31, and consistently hitting an 8 inch diameter target at 15 yards the 1st time I shot Glock31 with Big Dot. I think standard dot XS sights is for more accurate shots, I have that on my Sig P226 40S&W, and will be testing it on Memorial Weekend 2013. XS sights very effective.

I have absolutely no idea why I made those comments six months ago! It’s weird! I like these sights! I must of been out of my mind or something.

    Boring, but effective

    25 julio, 2013

you paid money for such boring looking sights?

  • chanderson1

    25 julio, 2013

I highly recommend them for a defensive application. It took me a few hundred rounds to get used to where point of aim point of impact was at longer distances, but anything within 21 feet you’ll be able to make combat effective shots much faster than any other sites on the market in my opinion.

You’ve had these on your g17 for a while now. Do you still recommend them for a defensive pistol? Want to put them on my 19, but I’m hesitant because they are slightly unconventional.

Hi, your absolutely right. After having the sight on my gun for awhile now, I’ve learned exactly where point of aim and point of impact is with these sights at different distances. I guess it just takes a bit to learn this. I do align the tritium center instead of the white outline and its dead on. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

Just an FYI, I think the reason you might be shooting high is because you are supposed to line up on the tritium center of your front sight rather than the large white ring around it. From what I have seen about these sights, if you place the large white dot in the V notch, you can see that your angle of aim is slightly upward. In close that’s not a big deal but the further away your target is the higher you point of impact will be. I am buying some for my G23 right now. 🙂 Take care..!

    25 julio, 2013

@BlackOpsCommand I really like it but again I stress that these sights are intended for self defense and not for bullseye target shooting.

I think the same of ghost rings. I think they are effective on rifles, but again Ive never shot a pistol with ghost rings before.

Thanks paperas. I am really liking the Insight Technologies MX3. It looks simple and effective. if you keeping the gun for home protection, I highly recommend putting a light on it. LOL..yes, the sound is my pug. He tends to snort a lot especially when I sit down to make videos. Thanks for watching!

The link at the end shows to be untrustworthy? It says, «There is a problem with this website’s security certificate.» in both Firefox and Explorer?
In other words, it determines whether or not you can continue to see more information as you indicated…odd, but might be wise to do whatever is necessary for people to view the link.
    Best regards

    Well done!
We’d like to hear of not see the results at the range, showing the target and if you had to make any additional adjustments. I too have ordered the same sight system for my Bersa Thunder 9 Pro HC. I’m looking forward to the install.
    Much appreciated!

That’s not what quite I was going for, but anyway 😉 I get paid for the ads on my videos, but I do have to keep a constant watch for ads I don’t agree with showing up on my vids. When I find out I immediately block them on my adsense settings.

You need adblock plus, then you won’t have to put up with that bs.

What the manufacture wont tell you about these sights . once installed to adjust or remove the sights for any gunsmith work – will in fact destroy them . The sur-lok 1262 solution used to install the sights require heat to melt the bound between the slide and the sight . That much heat kills the tritium vial . Not making this up . I contacted their support and that’s the answer I received .

Using laser ammo or surefires laser trainer would be an excellent substitute for a trip to the range.

Then you’d be able to immediately check zero and get a precise alignment.

just a note, you’re using the file in the wrong direction

they cut when you push with the file, not pull

unless…….your file is very special hahaha

Nice video.. I was going to get some for my Armscor 1911 but I was told they didn’t make any for that particular 1911. I thought they would take the same novak rear and dovetail style front as a springfield armory or any 1911 but it appears they’re different size dovetails.. I was highly disappointed to say the least.
